Paintings & Visual Art
“US” / Acrylic on Canvas / 2020 (SOLD)
Commissioned work inspired by pop art and comic books. NOT a fully original piece.
“Missing Mac” / Acrylic on Canvas / 2020 (SOLD)
This painting is a tribute to the rapper Mac Miller who passed in September 2018 from drug overdose. This painting was a commissioned piece for an old schoolmate who wanted lyrics from his song “I can see”. The song explains his shifts in perspective regarding being able to finally see the urgent changes he needs to make within himself.
“CENSORED” KAWS Inspired Commissioned Painting / Acrylic on Canvas / 2020 (SOLD)
“BILLIE” / Acrylic on Canvas / 2020
This work was an experimental piece inspired by the repetitive stencil works of Andy Warhol. The focus of this artwork was to capture the many emotive expressions of Billie Eilish in her music video:“When the Party’s Over”. The thematic elements of heartbreak and vulnerability within her music pushed me to create the feelings of her music translated into a different medium.
“Self-Love = Rebellion” / Acrylic on Canvas / 2019 (SOLD)
This piece was made with acrylic and paint pen on canvas. It was inspired by the act of loving yourself despite the world telling you not to. Through advertisements, social media and societal pressures, it has become an act of rebellion to accept yourself for all that you are.
“PAYTON” / Acrylic and Mixed Media on Canvas / 2020 (SOLD)
This artwork was inspired by a photoshoot styled by my friends Payton and Larissa. Larissa is a professional photographer who shot Payton with roses in her hair for her portfolio. The energy of these photos commanded attention in an empowering yet subtle way. I admired the simple and sultry look to these portraits that highlighted her natural beauty.
“ADHD is my Superpower” / Mixed media on Canvas Paper / 2019
This piece was made with paint pen, acrylic and crayon on canvas paper. It was inspired by my ADHD, and the feelings of shame and inadequacy growing up. Now, I perceive it as a superpower. There are so many amazing things that ADHD has done for me such as my education and my career. This piece helps add to the beauty of the stigma.
“Take Me Back to Dreamville” / Acrylic on Canvas / 2019 (SOLD)
This piece was made out of a stencil on canvas. It was an experimental piece that eventually lead me to my deep love for stencil work and street art. The piece depicts J.Cole, who is an influential rapper and lyricist from Philadelphia. His values as an artist to speak truth and shed light on real issues in society align with my own.
“Lost Ones” / Acrylic & Mixed Media on Canvas / 2019
This piece was made with acrylic and collage on canvas. It was a gift to myself and the first painting that I had courage to begin. Inspired by Lauryn Hill’s phenomenal album: The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, which lead me through adversity, heartbreak, and freedom from my past. This was a tribute to my childhood self mixed with a dream to be the best painter I can be.
“YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH.” / Mixed media and Spray paint on Canvas / 2019
This piece was made with collage and spray paint. This was a visual representation of my inspiration to raise the world’s self-esteem through a rebellious lens. I made it during a time I was deeply struggling to feel adequate in the art world.
Custom mirror with Paint pen / 2019
This mirror was inspired by an underlying fear we all share: “I’m not good enough.” This has become one of the most paralyzing illusions that has brought shame upon our society. This art piece screams that it’s time for a change. We need to hold space in the art world to nourish our self-esteem, create for our souls, and transcend our egos.
“You are Good Enough.” Custom Coaster Set / Ceramic & Paint pen / 2019
A set of coasters created to aid in uplifting your self-esteem. Keep them in your kitchen, on your coffee table or on your nightstand!
“Frank’s lens” / Collage and micron / 2019 (SOLD)
An experimental piece in appreciation of one of the most influential artists in today’s age: Frank Ocean. His storytelling through music has won over the hearts of millions due to his strength, vulnerability, and creative gifts. His ability to tell stories in a way that gets the listener to feel what he’s feeling in that moment, inspires me to create in the same way.
